Snowboarding in Lech
Snowpark, freeriding & more
Lech am Arlberg is one of the best snowboarding destinations in the Alps. And for good reason. Austria’s largest interconnected ski area offers more than 300 kilometres of slopes, a fully equipped snowpark directly at Schlegelkopf and around 200 kilometres of untouched deep-snow routes.
The lift system relies almost entirely on gondolas and chairlifts, making snowboarding here more comfortable than in many other ski areas. Whether it is your first turns on the board, freestyle sessions in the park or freeride adventures away from the groomed slopes, the Arlberg offers the right setting for every style and every level.
Our hotel is located directly on the slope, very close to the base station of the Schlegelkopf lift, making it the ideal starting point for your snowboarding holiday in Lech.
What makes snowboarding at the Arlberg so special?
Anyone who has stood on a board at the Arlberg understands why snowboarders keep coming back. The Ski Arlberg area is the largest interconnected ski area in Austria. You can look forward to more than 300 kilometres of slopes and wide runs for every level.
The lift system relies almost entirely on gondolas and chairlifts, which is a real advantage for snowboarders. Annoying drag lifts are the exception here.
What truly sets the Arlberg apart, however, lies beyond the groomed slopes. Around 200 kilometres of ski routes through untouched deep snow and up to eleven metres of natural snow per year make the region one of the most snow-sure freeride areas in Europe.
Heliboarding in Lech
Lech is the only place in Austria where heliboarding is permitted. A helicopter takes snowboarders into untouched high-alpine terrain that would otherwise be impossible to reach.
From Mehlsack at 2,652 metres or Schneetäli at 2,450 metres, an approximately 1,100-metre vertical deep-snow descent leads into the Zuger Täli valley. Here, you can experience powder snow in its purest form, far away from any piste.
This experience can only be booked with a certified mountain guide and requires solid freeride experience. Flights operate on weekdays only and only in suitable weather conditions. Booking options and further information about heliboarding can be found on the Ski Arlberg website.
